Now that the WorldSBK crown is rightfully his, after 26 wins from 30 races so far, Nicolo Bulega's venture into MotoGP is just around the corner.

At the previous round in Cremona, he became the first Italian WorldSBK champion since Max Biaggi, doing so in front of an adoring home crowd.

It's been known all year that the Bologna manufacturer has entrusted him with the keys to its 2027 850cc project. The new MotoGP regulations are among the most significant in recent times.

The reduction in engine capacity, the removal of key aerodynamic devices that put rider input at the forefront, and perhaps the biggest change that should help Bulega - the introduction of Pirelli tyres - all point towards a very different MotoGP era.
